WHY I MADE THIS SITE

There are a whole bunch of reasons to have my very own website. I don’t have to use social media, I have complete creative control to have fun with it, and maybe it will lead to something positive. If I had to break it down it would probably be these three reasons:

Reason 1: Pharma moves slow, advertising moves fast
I work in pharma advertising. Advertising as a whole moves crazy fast, but pharma advertising? At times, it moves frustratingly slow.

The first channel I learned was search, and that’s been my foundation. Understanding how people seek information has shaped the way I think about marketing. Search and therefore the way people find information is changing faster than anything right now because of AI.

That contrast is exactly why this site matters for my career. While pharma waits on PRC, legal reviews, budgets, fires, and a million other things that slow progress, the rest of the industry is sprinting ahead. Keeping up with marketing as a whole puts you way ahead of pharma, IMO.

Reason 2: I need a testing ground
Well, isn’t it obvious? I can’t test anything from Reason 1 without having a place to experiment. This site is my sandbox. I can try things like my AI visibility Test page out here before they ever make it into a campaign deck.

As a bonus, it’s great for expectation-setting with myself. If I’m asking a dev to build a landing page, working with creative on new messaging, or partnering with biz dev on a submission form, now I know what it takes to make those things real. I’m learning a lot about site design and a little about development (I won’t be learning to code), and that context makes me a better collaborator and marketer.

Reason 3: A one-page resume can’t hold all of me
I think I’m a great candidate for a lot of really cool roles, but if all I can share is a one-page resume, whoever reads it might not see things my way. This site lets me show off and add some personality, even if my site never looks the way I want it to, at least it represents my authentic self which is much cooler than what you see from my resume..
